Designed to enhance finishing workflows and establish sophisticated processing rules for data streams, the Solimar Print/Director SMART Processor provides organizations with powerful functionality to easily supplement application programs.

In addition, Print/Director v5.15 modules that output PDF can now preserve media and plex information in PDF annotations - PDF "comments" or "notes" - to further enhance PDF workflows. Print/Director modules that convert PDF will translate these finishing instructions to the format required by the target device. End user examples of the SMART Processor include inserting data-driven OMR marks and/or sequence numbers into print streams without reprogramming the application. AFPDS conversion support in Print/Director v5.15 includes 2D barcode support including PDF417, DataMatrix and Maxicode. Additional supported functionality of Print/Director v5.15 and the SMART Processor includes:
- Data-driven printer tray selection
- Conditional content extraction
- Conditional overlay insertion
- Conditional document splitting
