Incorporates .NET Technology and Enhances User Productivity Tools
San Diego, CA – January 14, 2005 – Solimar Systems, Inc.,, a leading global provider of production printing and secure document delivery solutions, today announced the release of SOLsearcher Enterprise v2.16, providing organizations with enhanced electronic document distribution functionality. Extending the distribution of business communications worldwide, SOLsearcher Enterprise provides highly secure access to electronic documents via a standard Web browser.
SOLsearcher Enterprise v2.16 uses a new default search control for Web Services that is based on the popular Microsoft Windows Forms model, providing increased Web client security and eliminating external plug-in requirements. “Providing Microsoft’s powerful .NET technology within SOLsearcher Enterprise v2.16 allows organizations to seamlessly communicate with customers, partners, and employees,” explains Mary Ann Rowan, Solimar Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Leveraging .NET also eliminates the need to download and install external plug-ins, thereby reducing Internet security concerns and other issues for many of our customers.”
In addition, SOLsearcher Enterprise v2.16 also includes an enhanced Document Assembler feature that allows a collection of retrieved documents to be easily captured and contained as a logical set to be saved or printed in a single user action. “Streamlining user actions by reducing operational steps will allow our customers to accomplish more work in the same amount of time, ” says Rowan. “The Document Assembler is a real time saver, and is designed to boost user productivity.”
Additional functionality that is supported with the release of SOLsearcher Enterprise v2.16 includes:
- Web Services enhancements to allow expanded and complex document search options
- Automatic parsing and validation of indexed data, including an automated notification process
- Index designer and interpreter options for 90, 180, and 270 degree rotated text, including mixed rotation types on the same page
In addition, Solimar has concurrently released SOLindexer v2.16, providing fast and powerful “off-line” search capabilities of high volume PDF-based reports and documents. SOLindexer v2.16 includes enhanced document security functionality, additional document search options, and enhanced document indexing capabilities.
