So, how many of these things can you do for the print and digital communications you deliver? From onboarding to delivery, your shop in all likelihood is not connected like your personal life…but it could be and should be for great business benefits.

Technology Track: When Will Your Print Workers Require a GUI to be Productive?
The way we work in our print and digital communications production shops has been changing. Now more than ever, it is apparent that the way one generation tackled a document re-engineering problem or document enhancement activity is not as comfortable or relatable to up-and-coming generations. As a business looks at processes being used today—the question should be asked: can this be done using a visual interface or do you have to know the command line process, the x and y coordinates and the specific code for each font or resource? This could be a significant issue for shops going forward and is something that should be considered as new generations of workers come to the table. Additionally, we'll discuss whether to build or buy to solve the problem.

Technology Track: The Dangers and Pitfalls of Not Being Able to WALK your WORKFLOW
If you think about things you do every day, like your process when you wake up in the morning and get ready to go to the office. Or the way you drive to the office. Why do you do things that way? And are you really aware of all the steps that you are taking and the things that are required or is it just muscle memory? These are questions that should be asked AND answered about the workflow or set of processes you have from the time you compose or onboard a job, through production and out to delivery. It might surprise you what you learn about your morning ritual.
