Solimar Technology Added to Xerox Product Offering

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 2, 2007 – Solimar Systems, Inc., a leading developer of enterprise output management solutions, today announced its Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise (SPDE) product has been designated as “Optimized for FreeFlow™” by Xerox Corporation.

Solimar’s software has earned the selected Xerox Business Partner distinction by tightly integrating its output management technology with the Xerox FreeFlow™ Digital Workflow Collection. Xerox’s FreeFlow® Digital Workflow Collection operates as the “central point of control” in a digital print shop environment by automating printing and administrative operations and integrating digital printing methods with traditional business, management, and production processes.

The Solimar Print Director Enterprise system leverages the Xerox FreeFlow Collection architecture by:

  • transforming data streams into compatible Print Description Languages (PDLs) that Xerox production printers can leverage
  • optimizing inefficient and highly graphical data streams to enable Xerox printers to reach rated speeds
  • enhancing job management and controlling printer and finishing resources in a centralized fashion
  • inserting and controlling Xerox Programming Information Format (XPIF) Job Tickets utilized by Xerox FreeFlow for automated print and finishing functionality.
