Solimar Systems User Conference 2017The Chemistry that holds us together

We’ve all overcome the first hurdles of a new year, summer break is still a bit long to go, but then there’s the month of May and the Solimar Systems User Conference in San Diego!

Many may think attending the conference is 24 hours fun, but what we’ve seen is we have incredibly hard-working customers; not only did you attend days packed with knowledge sharing from 8 am to 5 pm, but many of you had to jump on calls, see to emergencies back in the office – we do realize and appreciate the effort you put into joining us year after year in San Diego to share your thoughts with us, listen to presentations both by your peers and our team.

And every year it is a great (and sad) pleasure seeing so many happy, exhausted faces head home with the kind words: “Thank you for the hard work to get this conference going, for arranging evening entertainment and for looking after us all year round, see you soon!” on their lips. Thank YOU and see YOU soon!

But let’s step back a bit for those who were not able to join us

May 16-18, 2017 we hosted our annual User Conference at the Doubletree Hotel downtown San Diego, filled with presentations addressing both technical and management challenges, networking breaks, evening entertainment (live music and baseball) and hands-on product sessions.

We want to thank our keynote speaker Tim Cooper, Enterprise Architect, Information Technology, Harland Clarke, for sharing valuable insight with us in his presentation “The “OLOGIES” of change: How to Fail With your Next Project.”

Our conference couldn’t happen without so many of you who went through the effort of putting presentations together, sharing case studies, product news, and industry insights with everyone. We’d like to thank (following the order of their presentation)

  • Chris Irick, Worldwide Product Marketing Manager, Entry Production Inkjet, Xerox
  • Margaret Curry, Senior Manager, Strategic Alliances, Riso
  • Ken Ingram, VP Sales & Marketing, Screen
  • Erik Holdo, Senior Vice President Production Print Solutions, Konica Minolta
  • Chris Cairns, Technical Specialist, Mayo Clinic
  • Manish Haria, CISO & CIO, Johnson & Quin, Inc.
  • Henry Perez, Chief Operating Officer, FSSI
  • Rich Barclay, VP Sales, BCC
  • MJ Anderson & Stefan Agustsson, Reality Blu
  • Chris Beech, Manager, Composition Services, Gilmore Doculink
  • Shelley Sweeney, VP/GM, Direct Marketing, Catalogs and Transactional Printing Sectors, Xerox
  • And, of course, all the specialists at Solimar System

If you missed the conference, you might want to check out our Social Media channels, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn for photos and videos; for those of you who attended, don’t forget to regularly visit your online Solimar University account (e.g. via your tablet) for handouts, more photos and, of course, your learning paths, products info and more.

For those of you who weren’t able to attend: reach out via mike.tyler@solimarsystems.com for your Solimar University online learning account.

A special thank goes to the technical team at Mayo Clinic, headed by Chris Cairns: giving a product a nickname is probably one of the best compliments we could get. Who needs SPDE when you can have Spee-Dee!

We would also, once again, like to thank our generous sponsors: thank you BCC, Konica Minolta, RealityBlu, Screen, and Xerox for your support.
