XCHANGE::PostScript Module
The XCHANGE::PostScript printer emulation module of the Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise (SPDE) converts mainframe and Xerox LCDS/Metacode applications into PostScript for distribution to workgroup and production printers. The emulation can be used in conjunction with the PostScript module for outputting TIFF files to archiving systems.

XCHANGE::PostScript emulates Xerox LPS Metacode printers in online and offline modes. Data streams and resources are converted in real-time into PostScript specifically optimized for the output device.

The data conversions can reach 20,000+ pages per minute on a Pentium 800.

  • Emulates IBM line printers
  • Supports Xerox FNT, FRM, IMG, LGO, PDE, CME, and JSLs
  • Supports Xerox resources with FILE=() and batch and page-interleaved graphics
  • Converts print data and resources dynamically without coding or reprogramming
  • Outputs PostScript level 2
  • Output settings for Adobe, Canon, Danka, NEXPress and Xerox DocuTech, DocuPrint NPS, DocuSP PostScript printers
  • Enables or removes PJL processing
  • Logs all resources used during processing
  • Stores fonts, logos and forms on printer hard drive to increase printer performance and reduce PostScript file sizes
  • Integrates LPS features for new target printers:
    • Edge-to-edge printing
    • Color output
    • Six feed drawers and paper jogging
    • Custom fill patterns
    • Fine adjust line draw (for 600 dpi printers)
    • Displays OTEXT messages on new target printer
    • Printer OS version and patch emulation
    • Setpagedevice and No Setpagedevice options
  • Supports incoming file formats: ASCII, EBCDIC, 3211, 3262, 4245, 4248, 6262, Xerox DJDE/LCDS/Metacode
