XCHANGE::PCL Module (GET PDF)

The XCHANGE::PCL printer emulation module of the Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise (SPDE) converts mainframe and Xerox LCDS/Metacode applications into PCL for distribution to workgroup and production printers.

XCHANGE::PCL emulates Xerox LPS Metacode printers in online and offline modes. Data streams and resources are converted in real-time into PCL specifically optimized for the output device.

The data conversions can reach 20,000+ pages per minute on a Pentium 800.

• Supports Xerox FNT, FRM, IMG, LGO, PDE, CME, and JSLs
• Supports Xerox resources with FILE=() and batch and page-interleaved graphics

• Enables or removes PJL processing
• Logs all resources used during processing
• Stores fonts and forms on printer hard drive to increase printer performance and reduce the PCL file size

• Displays OTEXT messages on new target printer using PJL commands

• Supports incoming file formats: ASCII, EBCDIC, 3211, 3262, 4245, 4248, 6262, Xerox DJDE/LCDS/Metacode
