Solimar Print Director
In addition to physically connecting host systems and printers, the Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise's (SPDE) printer emulations are second to none! Not a simulator, not a translator, or a crude system scripting tool, SPDE's conversions truly emulate PCL, PostScript, IBM line, and Xerox Metacode printers in online and offline formats.

Data streams and resources are automatically converted into new printer languages for the target printers or other output destinations. The emulation modules do not require any changes to be made to the application generating the print data. With SPDE, the way printing is accomplished today can be the same tomorrow, but on new or different output devices.

The complete data stream conversion chart of SPDE shows the incoming, outgoing, and emulations supported by the Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise (SPDE) system. The incoming LCDS/Metacode data is the XCHANGE™ emulation module which includes support for ASCII, EBCDIC, 3211, 3262, 4245, 4248, 6262 and Xerox DJDE, LCDS, and Metacode print streams.

PCL Emulates HP LaserJet printers and converts PCL data streams and resources dynamically
PDF Converts Adode PDF files and resources into many printable data streams automatically
PostScript Emulates Adobe printers and converts PostScript data streams and resources dynamically
SCS Emulates IBM printers and converts Twinax SCS data streams and resources dynamically
TIFF Converts encapsulated TIFF files within Xerox data into printable data streams automatically
VIPP® Reproduce VIPP applications on devices supporting PostScript, PDF, PCL, IPDS, Metacode or TIFF


OUTPUT

ASCII Can pass-through ASCII data or convert EBCDIC to ASCII for printing
EBCDIC Can pass-through EBCDIC data or convert ASCII to EBCDIC for printing
IPDS Converts data streams and resources into IPDS. Data is sent via bi-directional communication
Metacode Can pass-through ASCII, EBCDIC and Metacode, or convert data for printing on Xerox LPS
PCL Can pass-through PCL data or convert data and resources for distributed printers
PDF Converts data into viewable PDF files that support both Adobe type with pre-printed stock overlays
PostScript Can pass-through PostScript data or convert data and resources into PostScript for printing
TIFF Converts data into standard archivable TIFF files
XML Creates XML indexes from documents to search, archive, reprint and repurpose
