SAN DIEGO, CA - Solimar Systems, Inc. announces full duplex support for Print/Director's 3770 Remote Job Entry (RJE) Input Module. Full Duplex, or DATMODE=FULL protocol, support provides customers with the fastest possible throughput when transmitting print data to Print/Director via an SDLC RJE connection. DATMODE=FULL improves performance by allowing for the simultaneous receiving of input data while sending acknowledgments back to the host.
Supporting DATMODE=FULL enables customers upgrading from out-of-date DOS-based and "black box" RJE communication products to continue transmitting print data at rates similar to, or faster than what they were accustomed to. In addition, companies can take advantage of the additional capabilities Solimar® Print/Director provides.
Solimar's RJE Input Module is built into one of the most powerful production print servers available for print stream conversions, host/printer connectivity and job management. When combined with appropriate modules of the Solimar® Print/Director, the RJE Emulation allows an enterprise to send line printer and Xerox Metacode applications to remote desktop, workgroup, and production printers including impact, PostScript, PCL, and IPDS printers. Users can also send data to remote TIFF and PDF-based report distribution and archiving solutions. All of this is possible without using channel extenders and at significantly lower cost than other RJE solutions.
A key strength of the Solimar® Print/Director System is its integration of sophisticated queue/spool management with IPDS, PCL, PostScript, and Xerox LCDS/DJDE/Metacode emulations. Users can easily manage output for multiple print devices while monitoring form types, file sizes, and other important job attributes.
