PCL::Metacode Module
The PCL::Metacode printer emulation module of the Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise (SPDE) enables printing PCL applications onto Xerox LPS printers by converting the print data and resources into Xerox Metacode. This can also be used in conjunction with other modules to seamlessly provide PCL conversions to IPDS, PDF, PostScript, and TIFF.

PCL::Metacode is feature-rich and can convert data at hundreds of pages per minute.

  • Converts PCL to Xerox electronic forms, fonts, and images
  • Creates graphics sizes of 2" x 2" up to full-page Xerox IMGs
  • Converts Intellifonts and TrueType fonts to Xerox FNTs
  • Supports HPGL/2 line drawing and shaded/filled boxes
  • Supports highlight color in text and images (PCL 5C)
  • Supports color biasing (extracting a color from image)
  • Dynamically converts and downloads resources in print stream
  • Merges 32,000+ resources via PCL macros
  • Supports six feed drawers and custom paper sizes
  • Supports secondary fonts for using specific Xerox fonts in the print stream
  • Supports the Xerox E13B MICR font instead of PCL MICR font
  • The Xerox LPS graphic handling option is required for images in the print stream
