Channel Input Modules
The BUS/TAG and ESCON Channel Input connectivity modules of the Solimar® Print Director™ Enterprise (SPDE) accepts print data from IBM and compatible mainframe systems by an integrated online channel connection. The Solimar print server appears to host systems as a mainframe printer and can receive and process data or simply act as a pass-through channel link in a daisy-chain configuration.

These modules are often used for directing mainframe and network data to the Solimar print server for managing, distributing, and archiving print jobs.

  • Supports up to four BUS/TAG or ESCON inputs per print server

  • Configure each input with up to 256 adjustable printer addresses
  • Integrated connectivity eliminates the need for multiple vendors to transfer data
  • Reads data from mainframe or compatible systems
  • Routes jobs automatically based on printer addresses
  • Emulates 3211, 3262, 4245, 4248, and 6262 line printers

Notes
  • Channel Input modules support PCI-X slots and can operate in either 3.3V (100MHz or less) or 5.0V PCI slots and in 32 or 64 bit slots.
